My parents’ home in Jamaica — a cherished part of their Windrush legacy — was badly damaged by Hurricane Melissa.
The storm destroyed the roof, windows, water and electrical systems, and furniture, leaving behind significant rubble and debris.
As a British-born Jamaican, I sadly don’t qualify for local aid, but I’m determined to rebuild and preserve my parents’ legacy — a symbol of resilience, love, and connection between generations.
