New Year's Resolutions
I was watching a Comedian I had the pleasure of seeing at the Clapham Grand a few weeks ago.
It was the first time I had actually seen him and was pleasantly surprised.
Not only was he funny but he is also not what some people would expect.
However, if you are of Jamaican Heritage, or have ever travelled to Jamaica, or are familiar with Jamaican culture, the National Emblem carries the words "Out of Many One People".
Jamaica is diverse in culture, from the Maroons, to the Chinese, Indian Asians, Germans (there is actually a place called German Town) and not forgetting caucasian Jamaicans.
Yes Jamaica is diverse and there are white people, who are born and raised in Jamaica.
In my family, there is a wonderful mixture of family members.
So back to Comedy "White Yardie" posted live clip on Instagram.
He said if there are problems from 2018, do not expect them do have disappeared in 2019, they will still be there.
However, if like myself and many others you are working towards your goals; keep plugging away.
Dreams require hard work, persistence, focus and being around good people who will eventually find you and seek you out.
So do not give up, find your team and tribe of people and keep moving towards your goals.

Staying Engaged and Motivated
Poor work is usually a sign of disconnection; an employee may feel disengaged from the team but may still be able to their job due to personal work ethic. Or the job itself may be too easy and they may feel they are not being challenged.
When a person is achieving their goals, it does not necessarily mean they are happy at work.
Staff Attitudes and Hierarchy/Bureaucracy
Bureaucracies are often impersonal employers, which some workers may find invasive.
For instance, if a long-time employee has a family situation that may require remote working. Having that request rejected by a manager be be a result of citing policy that forbids exceptions and as a result, the employee will feel slighted. After her many years of loyal service, the company’s lack of consideration seems like a slap in the face. In contrast, if the manager bent the rules slightly to accommodate her important needs, the employee would feel supported and grateful.
Countering Negativity – Morale
Low morale can quickly affect the team. Signs of low morale often include missed deadlines, an increase in mistakes or a decline in service levels.
If teams feel burdened by the amount of work they must do, taking responsibility to provide the support they need will help to create and reinforce a positive work environment.
Investing in people leads to enhanced productivity.
I decided to check out Usain Bolt’s new restaurant.
I had not been following him on social media for a while, so a business colleague suggested we check it out.
Not knowing what to expect, we arrived, waited for five minutes.
My colleague approached the manager who advised they were fully booked.
Given this was our first time, we were advised we could have something to eat by the bar and were provided with menus.
We waited approximately 45 minutes then my colleague caught the manager’s eye, only to be advised that we needed to book a table.
We politely explained that since it was our first time, we were unaware we would need to make a reservation or wait for 45 minutes to determine whether we would be able eat.
After 90 minutes, we were advised there had been a cancellation and provided with a table.
We ordered, the food came quickly enough.
A simple menu with a good selection of dishes.
I ordered curried goat with white rice, placing another order for rice and peas, as there was no option to choose.
I also ordered a portion of plantain and my colleague ordered the Jerk Chicken Platter.
The food arrived, the presentation was satisfactory.
However, for someone who does not use salt or cook with salt, the curried goat in addition to the vegetables were quite salty.
I tried the Jerk chicken which was satisfactory, the plantains were fresh, crispy, and tasty.
The Jamaican festivals that arrived with the Jerk Platter were delicious.
A decent selection of reggae music, (which I think had to be turned down slightly on a couple of occasions).
The décor was pleasant and overall, apart from the wait, it was a positive experience.
I would go again, only this time I would book in advance and maybe try something else on the menu.
A nice place for family and friends and for someone of Jamaican Heritage it was a pleasant evening.
I came away refreshed and satisfied
